Patient And Family Counselling
Counselling at BLK Hospital is an integral element of the Institute for Digestive & Liver Diseases. Our mission is to provide our patients and families with the support, coping techniques, and interventions within an interdisciplinary context that help them regain a sense of well-being. We recognise that there is no one-size-fits-all approach for a patient dealing with a serious illness. Thus we offer patient and family counselling services to help them manage and cope with the diagnosis and treatment of End-stage liver diseases.
We offer one to one interaction between a counsellor and the patient/ family, where a patient can talk to the therapist about the issues or emotional difficulties that are bothering them. Our counsellor offers confidential and compassionate support to those seeking help with common concerns related to the disease.
Counselling services we offer are consulted for:
- Adjustment to illness
- Mental Health Assessments
- Financial Concerns
- Substance Abuse Treatment
- Grief and Loss
- Supportive Counselling
Outcomes Of Counselling
The aim of the counselling services is to help you overcome personal and social problems related to your illness. Our counsellors follow a multidisciplinary team approach including top-tier doctors, surgeons, researchers, nurses, and support staff to help patients gain greater insight into their problems and build their self-esteem and self-respect.
Many patients and families find it that talking to a counsellor has provided them mental support and help them cope up with the diagnosis and treatment of Sleeping Disorders. Our patient and family counselling services are available for you during your stay in the hospital as well as when you are at home.
